Svenska föreningen för historiska värdepapper

Svenska Föreningen för Historiska Värdepapper, SFHV, bildades den 10 juli 1979 vid ett sammanträde i Sundsvallsbankens styrelserum på Regeringsgatan 42 i Stockholm. Sammankallande var bankens fonddirektör Henry Vinterman. Övriga närvarande vid detta historiska tillfälle var Kurt M. Holm, Ernst-Olov Melin, Per-Erik Ohlsson, Tage Renander, Bo Niklasson, förste antikvarien vid Kungl. Myntkabinettet Ernst Nathorst-Böös och Aktiespararnas chefredaktör Stig Nordvall, mötets sekreterare.

En interimsstyrelse bildades med Kurt M. Holm som ordförande, Henry Vinterman som vice ordförande, Stig Nordvall som sekreterare och redaktör för föreningens medlemstidning, Ernst-Olov Melin som klubbmästare och övriga deltagare som ledamöter. Det första föreningsmötet hölls den 4 oktober samma år på Historiska museet där Ernst Nathorst-Böös förevisade en del av museets värdepapperssamlingar. Ett 20- tal medlemmar mötte upp. Genom den lilla auktion som hölls i anslutning till den efterföljande måltiden i museets cafeteria tillfördes föreningskassan sin första intäkt : 500 kronor.

Föreningens stadgar, som ursprungligen utarbetats av jur dr Nathorst-Böös, fick sitt nuvarande utseende genom moderniseringar 1989 och 2002. Av stadgarna framgår att föreningens ändamål är att stödja och främja samlandet av historiska värdepapper, främst gamla aktiebrev och obligationer, och att vidga kunskaperna om värdepapperens och företagens historia.

Föreningens första stora auktion ägde rum den 22 mars 1980 i Historiska museets lokaler. Den var välbesökt av deltagare från såväl London (uppköpare från Stanley Gibbons) som Frankfurt. Totalt såldes vid detta tillfälle gamla värdepapper för 64.800 kronor. Som ett exempel kan nämnas ett brev för Carl XIII:s bro från 1818 (50 Rdr) för 3.400 kr.

Sedan dess har ytterligare 57 auktioner ägt rum – en vår auktion och en höst auktion varje år. Den största och mest välbesökta (ca 75 personer) var den som anordnades på Stockholms Fondbörs den 22 april 1989 med anledning av föreningens 10 års jubileum. Då såldes 178 poster till ett totalt belopp av 320.000 kr (dvs 1.798 kr per post). Toppnumret vid den auktionen var ett aktiebrev för Svenska Levantiska Compagniet på 1.500 daler Kmt från 1748; det gick för 37.000 kr. Vid samma tillfälle såldes ett av Carl XV undertecknat aktiebrev för Åminne Bolag från 1859 på 500 Rdr för 23.000 kr.

Föreningen har hittills haft fem ordförande: Kurt M. Holm (1979-1982 och 1991-1994), Henry Vinterman (1982-1985), Håkan Gergils (1985-1989), Ragnar Boman (1989-1991) och John Örtengren (1994- ).

The history of the Society
The Swedish Society of Historical Certificates was founded on July 10, 1979, at a meeting in the Board room of Sundsvallsbanken, Regeringsgatan 42 in Stockholm. The meeting was called by Henry Vinterman, Manager of the Stock and Bond Department of that bank. The others present at this meeting were: Kurt M Holm, Ernst-Olov Melin, Per-Erik Ohlsson, Tage Renander, Bo Niklasson, Ernst Nathorst-Böös and Stig Nordvall, secretary of the meeting.

An Interim Board was established with Kurt M Holm as the Chairman, Henry Vinterman as the Deputy Chairman, Stig Nordvall as the Secretary and Editor of the Society bulletin, Ernst-Olov Melin as the Master of Ceremonies and the other participants as ordinaru founding members of the Interim Board.

The first regular meeting of the Society, attended by 20 members, took place on October 4, 1979, at the Museum of History, where Ernst Nathorst-Böös exhibited part of the museum’s collection of old certificates. The little auction that took place during the meal in the museum cafeteria generated the first income of the Society: SEK 500.

The first Articles of Association were worked out by jur. Dr Ernst Nathorst-Böös; they were slightly amended in 1989 and in 2002. The bylaws of the Society state that the purpose of the Society is to support and to promote collection of historical certificates, primarily old shares and bonds, and to widen the knowledge of these certificates and the history of their corporations.

The first large auction of the society took place on March 22, 1980, in the Museum of History. It had many attendants including visitors from London and Frankfurt. In all, old certificates were sold for SEK 64,800 on that occasion. An example was Carl XIII:s bro from 1818 (50 Riksdaler) for SEK 3,400.

Since then, the Society has held 57 auctions – one every spring and one every autumn. The largest and most well-attended (appr. 75 participants) was the auction at the Stockholm Stock Exchange on April 22, 1989, when the Society celebrated its 10th Anniversary. On that occasion 178 items totalling SEK 320,000 (i.e. SEK 1,798 per item) were sold. The top number was a Svenska Levantiska Compagniet share from 1748 in the amount of 1,500 KMT, sold for SEK 37,000. At the same auction a share of Åminne Bolag from 1859 for 500 Riksdaler changed hands for SEK 23,000.

Up til now, the Society has had five chairmen: Kurt M Holm (1979-1982 and 1991-1994), Henry Vinterman (1982-1985), Håkan Gergils (1985-1989), Ragnar Boman (1989-1991) and John Örtengren (1994- ).
